torn to write something of meaning,

Ode to Linus

It’s been one year

Since you came into my life

You changed everything

With unconditional love, hope,

Peace, in a time of despair

And asked for nothing back.

Who would have ever thought

That these two lost souls

Could ever find their way, this way.

WARMTH

The air is cool,

But the sun beats warm,

The pork roast in the oven,

Makes it feel like home…

RELENTLESS

More snow falls today.

Isn’t it supposed to be spring?

I think I’ll wear my Christmas sweater.

The time has come,

      To wish upon a star;

                 To make new dreams,

                             And fly afar!

I mean, like seriously?!

INGENUITY

Create! Don’t conform!

Have a healthy disregard

For the impossible.

COMMITTMENT

Because the most important step,

To reaching any goal,

Is that step in its direction,

And not the lingering in would-be prose.
